Water extraction is the key to a successful dry out. Even a small loss, if not extracted properly can extend the drying time and increase the risk of other damage. Imagine if you took your clothes out of the wash machine early, soaking wet, and put them in the dryer. Most likely it would take several cycles to get them completely dry. Now apply that to your carpet and pad. This would extend the drying process by days, costing more everyday and would add to the already frustrating event. At Premier Restoration Service we use the best extraction methods available allowing us to minimize drying times and prevent secondary damage.
When free or standing water is the problem, such as in a flooded basement or crawl space with several feet of standing water, removing the water as fast as possible could be catastrophic. A Water loss that originates from the outside in (typically flooding) can also cause the ground around the outside of the structure to become overly saturated. If the the water is removed too fast from inside and the water level outside is not allowed to equalize the hydrostatic pressure on the foundation walls could cause them to collapse. Our water removal technicians are fully trained to deal with this type of situation.
